Barney recently retired from Heyl Royster and accepted a position with a long-time client of the firm, State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Company in Bloomington, Illinois. Barney's new position with State Farm is Vice-President – Counsel, and he is in charge of the Litigation Division of the Corporate Law Department.
His responsibilities as Chair of several practice areas have transitioned. The Toxic Torts and Asbestos practice group is now being handled by Lisa LaConte and Kent Plotner. Patrick Cloud is the primary contact for the Class Actions/Mass Tort practice group. Additionally, Richard Hunsaker is the primary contact for the Drug and Medical Devices practice group.
