Cathy concentrates her practice on the defense of asbestos and toxic tort personal injury matters. This includes litigation management, from initiating discovery to conducting and defending depositions of product identification witnesses, corporate representatives, treating physicians, and experts to all aspects of motion practice and jury trials.

A native of Peoria, Illinois, Cathy joined Heyl Royster in November 2015. Prior to joining Heyl Royster, Cathy started with a local Peoria firm in 1988 before branching out on her own in 1998. Her entire career has been focused on representing numerous asbestos clients, both manufacturers and suppliers, and a premises defendant. She has tried a number of cases to verdict in McLean County, Illinois. She has also practiced in both federal and state courts throughout the entire state of Illinois representing various asbestos clients. She has also appeared and/or argued before several different appellate courts in Illinois as well as the United States Court of Appeals, Seventh Circuit.

She has been active in the Peoria County Bar Association, holding various chair positions throughout her career. She has worked with local high school students either through the Peoria County Bar Association or the Law Explorers program, by conducting mock trials.

She has been involved in pro bono activities through Prairie State, as well as volunteering her time to other nonprofit organizations.
