Before joining Heyl Royster, he worked for legal assistance representing indigent clients in consumer defense cases in Illinois State Court, as well as representing debtors in Bankruptcy cases in Federal Court. Prior to that, he worked for a medium-sized law firm in Belleville, Illinois, where he defended clients in toxic tort, products liability, and premises liability suits.

Ben is a Champaign-Urbana native who earned his Bachelors of Arts in Political Science from the University of Illinois in 2007, while working as a student manager for Illinois football throughout his time in undergrad. He continued his education at Southern Illinois University School of Law following employment at Champaign County Probation and Court Services.
