Governmental Attorneys Speak at Statewide Conferences
In what has become an annual appearance for the firm, Nate Bach, Andy Keyt, and John Redlingshafer presented at the IAPD/IPRA Soaring to New Heights Conference held January 19-21 in Chicago. Over the course of two days, the attorneys spoke to park district professionals on various topics, including recent updates on the Open Meetings Act and Freedom of Information Act, the Prevailing Wage Act, and considerations for public employers on the use of medicinal marijuana by employees. This is the third straight year that Heyl Royster has been asked to present to the thousands of Park District Commissioners and Executive Directors from around Illinois. Earlier in the month, Redlingshafer also presented to the winter meeting of the Illinois Association of County Clerks and Records on personnel policies and manuals. Over the coming months, numerous members of the firm’s Governmental Practice Group will present on these and other issues for webinars, at additional conferences, and as part of the firm’s annual Claims Handling Seminar.
