Kokal Interviewed by Springfield Radio on Cybersecurity
On April 5, Mike Kokal, John Geyston of Troxell Insurance, and David Earhart, Vice President, The Greater Springfield Chamber of Commerce, were interviewed on the WMAY Springfield Bishop On Air radio program on the topic of Cybersecurity. Earhart commented on the need for businesses, large and small, to protect their customers’ data, especially considering a 400% increase in cyber breaches from 2015 to 2016. Kokal discussed the requirements under the Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA), which was enacted in Illinois in 2016, for businesses to take “reasonable security measures” to protect personal information. Kokal also said that businesses will increasingly require their business partners to meet a certain standard of cyber protection.
Kokal will be speaking on Cybersecurity at a Heyl Royster-sponsored Chamber event on May 3. For more information, click here.
