As we begin the new year, the law firm of Heyl Royster is pleased to share some exciting news about leadership changes within our organization, effective January 1, 2024.

Firstly, Tobin Taylor begins his tenure as the firm's tenth Managing Partner. Taylor has been with the firm throughout his entire legal career and has played a crucial role in developing and managing the firm's Toxic Torts Practice Group. Taylor became the inaugural Office Managing Partner in the Chicago office in 2014 and has served on the firm's Board of Directors since 2020. Mr. Taylor succeeds Craig Young, who retired after serving the firm for 40 years. Taylor will continue to operate out of the Chicago office.

In late 2023, John Heil assumed the newly created Peoria Office Managing Partner role. John has been an integral part of our team for many years, and we are confident in his ability to continue to excel in this new position.

Mike Denning will take over as the Rockford Office Managing Partner. Mike's strong work ethic and desire to take on a challenge will serve him well in his new role.

Renee Monfort will be the Champaign Office Managing Partner, succeeding John Flodstrom, who retired at the end of 2023. Renee is a highly respected team member, and we are excited to see her take on this new opportunity.

As Tobin Taylor transitions into his new role, Andy Roth will be the new Chicago Office Managing Partner. We look forward to seeing the great work he will do.

Lastly, Patrick Cloud will assume the Edwardsville Office Managing Partner role later this year, taking over from Kent Plotner, who has delayed his full retirement to midyear 2024. We appreciate Kent's continued dedication to our firm and look forward to Patrick's return to the team.

Theresa Powell and Rick Hunsaker will continue serving as Office Managing Partners in the Springfield and St. Louis offices, respectively.

Please join us in congratulating our new leaders and wishing them all the best in their new roles.
